Reliq is built to be the centerpiece of a hybrid or modular studio: routing, sequencing, modulating and mixing your hardware and software together, writing full songs on hardware, driving large CV rigs, and keeping it all locked to a rock solid clock. We would rather be clear than oversell, so a few things are honestly not for everyone. It is a premium instrument, not the cheapest or the most pocketable option, and full MPE and polyphonic CV are in the works rather than in the box today. What Reliq is for is orchestrating an entire studio or setup from one instrument, and it keeps growing: since launch we have shipped 12 firmware updates in 13 months, and we are still going strong.

Yes, and one of the most powerful sequencers ever made, but it was never meant to be just a step sequencer. You get 16 polyphonic tracks, up to 32,768 steps per track, and a 768 PPQN engine, four times the resolution of a typical 192 PPQN sequencer. The control reaches all the way down to the individual voice: every voice can carry its own pitch, velocity, probability, microtiming, ratchets and trigger conditions and a per-voice Accumulator. And its clock is the tightest we have ever measured, more than 95 percent of its pulses land within about 0.12 microseconds of perfect, against 20.7 microseconds for the next best sequencer we tested. But Reliq is not another great sequencer, it was built to be a Hybrid Instrument that is also a fully analog 16x16 matrix mixer, a deep modulation engine, and a DAW controller. It sequences your gear, routes and mixes your audio, drives 32 CV, 16 gates, MIDI and USB, and controls your DAW, all from one playable instrument.

Extremely, and we have the measurements to back it. Reliq was designed as a rock solid clock first, and everything else was built around it. In our bench tests, more than 95 percent of its clock pulses land within about 0.12 microseconds of perfect (the figure engineers call Peak-over-95%), against 20.7 microseconds for the next best instrument we measured, and it holds that accuracy even while busy playing notes and sending CC. No, and making it easy has been our main ambition from the very beginning. We have always pictured Reliq's interface like a mixing console: big at first sight, but immediate to use, and meant to be played like an instrument. That is the real reason for its size. Instead of burying functions in menus and shift combos, almost every one has its own dedicated control right under your hand, with the large 12.6 inch screen always showing what you are doing. We put a lot of care into how it feels and how quickly it clicks, so you can start fast and don't hit a ceiling as you go deeper.

Because of the kind of instrument we set out to build. Reliq is a colossal undertaking, an instrument we want to last a lifetime and still feel essential years from now, and that level of quality does not come from rushing volume out the door. So we build it in small batches with a small team, and demand has consistently outrun supply, which means it sells out quickly and can be hard to find between rounds. We chose this path on purpose to protect the quality and longevity, look after the people already in our community, and let the instrument earn its reputation rather than chase the hype. No — Reliq does not include analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog converters. We explored this option early on, but using converters would have made it a digital matrix instead of an analog one. This also would have significantly increased production costs and complexity. We're still exploring the possibility of add-ons or companion interfaces.

Yes, you can send CV directly from your DAW to any of the 32 CV outputs using the USB MIDI port on Reliq.
