Reliq is built to be the centre of a hybrid or modular studio. It routes, sequences, modulates and mixes your hardware and software together, writes full songs on hardware, drives large CV rigs and keeps everything locked to one tight clock. In short: running a whole studio or live setup from one instrument.

We would rather be clear than oversell, so a few things are not for everyone. Reliq is a premium instrument, not the cheapest or the most pocketable option, and full MPE is in the works rather than in the box today.

Yes, and a very deep one, though it was never meant to be just a step sequencer. You get 16 polyphonic tracks, up to 32,768 steps per track and a 768 PPQN engine, four times the resolution of a typical 192 PPQN sequencer. Control reaches down to the single voice: every voice can carry its own pitch, velocity, probability, microtiming, ratchets, trigger conditions and accumulator. The clock is the tightest we have measured: more than 95 percent of its pulses land within about 0.12 microseconds of perfect.

Reliq is also a fully analog 16 × 16 matrix mixer, a modulation engine and a DAW controller. It sequences your gear over MIDI, USB, 32 CV and 16 gate outputs, routes and mixes your audio, and controls your DAW, all from one hybrid instrument.

No. Reliq has no sound engine and it is not an audio interface. It sequences, routes, mixes and modulates the instruments you already own, analog and digital, with or without your DAW.

No. The Breakout Module, included, is the analog heart of Reliq in any studio. Its 16 matrix inputs and 16 outputs take line level, Eurorack level, effects pedals and CV alike (3.5 mm jacks, ±10 V, fully analog), so you can route and mix synths, drum machines, outboard effects and modules. It also has 32 CV and 16 gate outputs, plus clock and reset, for modular and analog synths.

Synths and drum machines are sequenced over MIDI or CV and gate, and a computer connects over USB.

Reliq controls Ableton Live 12 and Bitwig Studio 5.3 or later natively, on macOS 15 or later or Windows 11, and stays locked to their clock with U-SYNC. A Bitwig Studio 8-Track license is included. With other DAWs, such as Logic Pro, Cubase, Pro Tools, Reaper, Studio One and FL Studio, U-SYNC keeps Reliq locked to their clock, and Reliq works as a USB MIDI device, so the DAW can play its MIDI and CV outputs.

Making Reliq immediate has been our main ambition from the start. We picture its interface like a mixing console: big at first sight, but almost every function has its own control under your hand, and the large screen always shows what you are doing. In Kris Vanderheyden’s words: “There’s no endless menu diving, everything is direct and intuitive.”

Yes. Rlx, the operating system inside Reliq, has had ten major updates since April 2025, six of them this year:

• Rlx 1.5, February: generators for melodies, chords and basslines
• Rlx 1.6, April: ratchets, MIDI file import and export
• Rlx 1.7, May: Harmonizer, MIDI Delay, strummed chords, accumulators
• Rlx 1.8, July: Select mode, MonoMaker, a MIDI metronome
• Rlx 1.9, September: any mix of MIDI, CV and gate per track, key detection, a new Clip page
• Rlx 1.10, October: U-SYNC 2.0 on Windows, Bitwig plugin control, MIDI out to USB devices, track speed from /8 to x8

You have 14 days from delivery to return it in its original packaging; return shipping is on you. Reliq comes with a 2-year limited hardware warranty.
